William Burton Heelan, 19, of Laurel Hill, FL, passed away on October 17, 2022. He was born June 16, 2003, in Crestview, FL, the son of Sean Sr and Maggie Heelan. William graduated from Paxton High School in May 2022, where he enjoyed the competition and comradery of playing basketball. Following in the footsteps of his father, William wanted to pursue a career as a Law Enforcement Officer. William proudly served with the Florala, Alabama Police Department on their Reserves Team. William loved his friends as his family and could spend hours playing video games with them. He always had a smile and a hug for anyone he knew. William would often go out of his way to help a friend or just stop by to say hello and pass along one of his famous hugs. At his death William was working for LJ Schooners Dockside as an Oyster Shucker, a job he totally loved doing. He was preceded in death by his grandparents William and Joyce Heelan, of Westville, FL; John and Joyce Huckaby of Ocala, FL; and Walter "Bud" Maxwell of Panama City, FL

He is survived by his parents, Sean Sr and Maggie Heelan, and his three siblings, Brandi, Sean Jr, and Erika, and his Nana Wanda Maxwell along with many aunts and uncles, cousins and a plethora of friends.

William's family wishes to thank their extended family, the many friends, and the Paxton, Florala, and DeFuniak Springs Communities, for all of the thoughts, prayers, and love they have received in their time of need.

Funeral services for William Burton Heelan will be at 5pm Monday, October 24, 2022, at Evans Funeral Home with Caleb Davidson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-5pm Monday. Interment will be in Paxton Cemetery at a later date.
