William Lester Griffin, aka "Pops," passed away on September 30, 2026. William was born in Highland Co, Virginia on July 8, 1942 to Leslie & Goldie Griffin. William is preceded in death by his wife Mary Griffin & his siblings.

William leaves behind his daughter Sissy Zimmerman, grandchildren Josh Jackson (Courtney), Chrysee Sparks (Michael), Brandon Garner, Steven Byers, niece Penny Garner (Ronnie), & 8 great grandchildren.

William served as a proud soldier in the United States Air-force from September 1960 through September 1966. William also served as Security for Tampa Electric Company in Tampa Florida for many years. William enjoyed volunteering for his local Fire Department here in Florala Alabama.

Funeral services for William Griffin will be held 10am Saturday October 10, 2026 at Red Oak Baptist Church. With Brother Waylon Bush from Red Oak Baptist Church officiating.
