Virgina
Reeves
Oct 9, 1956 — Mar 14, 2026
Virginia Reeves passed away on March 14, 2026, at the age of 69.
Virginia was born October 9, 1956, in Laurel Hill, Florida, the daughter of John Cooper and Sarah Perdue Cooper Smith. She lived a life marked by perseverance, hard work, and a deep love for her family.
Virginia spent many years working as a truck driver in the transportation industry during a time when very few women were seen behind the wheel of a big rig. Long before it was common, Virginia proved that determination and grit mattered far more than expectations. She earned the respect of those around her through her strength, independence, and willingness to do a job that demanded long hours and tough roads.
At home, Virginia found joy in the simple things she loved most. She took great pride in caring for the flowers around her home, tending to them with patience and care. She also had a passion for shopping and could rarely pass up a good yard sale, always enjoying the hunt for a hidden treasure.
Virginia faced many health challenges throughout her life, yet her faith in Jesus Christ sustained her through every battle. Her family takes comfort in the truth of Scripture that describes her life well, she fought the good fight, she finished the race, and she kept the faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Reeves; her daughter, Casey Nicole Reeves; her son, Brian McLelland; her brother, Johnny Cooper; and her mother, Sarah Perdue Smith.
Virginia is survived by her beloved grandchildren: grandsons Justice Joye and Hayden Joye, and granddaughter Alexis Joye, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who lovingly called her "Granny," a name she treasured deeply. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Nikki. Virginia had a love for all of her friends.
A celebration of Virginia's life will be announced by Evans Funeral Home.
