Sandra Joe Legg, age 82, of Andalusia, Alabama, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026.

Sandra was born on August 27, 1943, in Brantley, Alabama, the daughter of Victor J. Legg, Sr. and Mildred Louise Morgan Legg, both of whom preceded her in death.

Sandra spent many years working in the food service industry as a waitress. Those who knew her best would often say that Sandra had a spirited personality and a way of speaking her mind that was unmistakably her own. Beneath that fiery nature, however, was a woman with a warm heart who loved deeply and lived life with energy and authenticity.

Sandra had a love for music and dancing, and she possessed a natural rhythm that made those moments especially joyful for her. She also had a deep affection for animals, particularly cats, and was known among friends and family as someone who cared for them with great tenderness.

Family meant everything to Sandra. She shared a particularly special bond with her younger sister, Monette Mims. Being fifteen years older, Sandra loved Monette with a devotion that was almost motherly, watching over her with a protective and nurturing spirit throughout their lives.

Her family finds comfort and peace in knowing that Sandra had made peace with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Monette Mims and husband Tony; brother, Joe Legg; aunt, Sheila Bush; nieces, Wendy Cauley and Megan Mims; and nephews, Jacob Cauley, Joseph Legg, and Brandon Mims, along with other extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.

Funeral services for Sandra Joe Legg will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home with visitation beginning one hour prior to the service.
