Rodney Hammonds age 51 of Paxton, Florida passed away March 8, 2025. He was born in Milton, FL on September 27, 1973. Anyone who knew Rodney knew he was a hard worker and loved his family. He retired from Okaloosa County after working there for 15 years to take a job getting back to his roots at the lime pit. He was back at the pit for a year before his passing. He was a devoted husband, son, father and Papa Dirt. He would do anything in his power to take care of the people he loved. He loved John Deere, ketchup, and pickles just as much as he loved his family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Naomi & Arnold Lloyd, and Maxine & Guy Hatfield.

He is survived by his wife, Amber Hammonds, Mother, Gail Knight (Tom), father, Roger Hammonds Sr (Diane), son, Christopher Hammonds, daughter, Sabrina Jackson (JD), Grandchildren, Cohen and Cameron Jackson, stepchildren, Leslee & Logan Godwin, Siblings, Roger Hammonds Jr (Lachia), Shaun Hammonds (Brandy), Jonathan aka Frank Brooks (Jennifer), and Brittany Brooks (Dominique), Debra Conn, Rocky Hammonds. He also leaves behind an abundance of cousins, nephews, nieces, other relatives and beloved friends.

Funeral services for Rodney Hammonds will be 2PM Friday March 14, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Paxton Cemetery.
