Obituary

Rebecca Gregor, age 85, of DeFuniak Springs, Florida, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026. She was born December 10, 1940, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Alfred Campbell and Julia Keys Campbell.

Rebecca lived a life deeply rooted in her Christian faith, her family, and service to others. For more than 20 years, she faithfully served as secretary of New Harmony Baptist Church, where she became much more than an employee, she was a beloved and devoted part of the church family. She loved reading her Bible and taught the Dedicated Women Sunday School Class, sharing not only her knowledge of Scripture but also the faith that guided the way she lived each day.

Rebecca leaves behind a wonderful legacy at New Harmony Baptist Church. She was a woman who did not simply speak about her faith; she lived it. She believed in loving her neighbor as herself and demonstrated that love through kindness, compassion, generosity, and a willingness to help anyone in need. Her unconditional love for others reflected the heart of the Gospel she treasured, and countless lives were touched by her faithful service and caring spirit.

Rebecca never forgot her Pennsylvania roots. When football season arrived, she especially enjoyed cheering for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Those teams remained a treasured connection to the Pennsylvania heritage that was always a part of her.

Some of Rebecca's happiest moments were spent watching her family compete in sporting events. Through the years, she could be found in the stands watching her sons, and later her grandchildren, participate in basketball, baseball, football, volleyball, softball, and whatever sport they chose to pursue. The particular sport mattered far less than the person playing it. If one of her children or grandchildren was competing, Rebecca wanted to be there, proudly cheering them on.

She also enjoyed the simple beauty of watching hummingbirds gather around the feeders she kept for them. Their visits brought her great pleasure and were among the quiet joys she appreciated in everyday life.

Above all else, Rebecca treasured her family. To her grandchildren she was affectionately known as "Baba," a name she cherished and a role that brought tremendous joy to her life. Being Baba was more than a title, it represented the love, encouragement, presence, and devotion she poured into the generations of her family. Her greatest earthly legacy can be seen in the children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild who will carry her love and memory forward.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Julia Keys Campbell; her son, Alan Gregor; her grandson, Josh Gregor; her brother, Al Campbell; and her sister, Meredith Campbell Whitfield.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 67 years, Gordon Gregor; her sons, Gary Gregor (Brianne) and Gordon Michael Gregor (Kay); her daughter-in-law, Tammy Gregor (Jeremy); and her sister-in-law, Margie Campbell, her grandchildren, Jimmy Gregor (Bridget), Mary Kennedy (Eric), Lindsay Pence (Alec), Alan Gregor (Megan), Jeremy Gregor (Sara), Amanda Jones (Taylor), Chyanne, and Easton Gregor; her great-grandchildren, Maxwell, Victor, Lily, Emmett, Isla, Rowdy, Emerson, Eila, Lexi, Jaxson, Emma, Brooklyn, Josiah, Jaydon, and Breelyn; and her great-great-granddaughter, AJ. Rebecca is further survived by an abundance of extended loved ones, including numerous nieces and nephews, close friends, and a church family who loved her dearly.

Rebecca's 85 years were marked by faithfulness, to her Lord, to her husband and family, to her church, and to the people God placed along her path. While her family and friends will deeply miss her presence, they can find comfort in the Christian faith that Rebecca so faithfully professed and lived: that death is not the end, and that the legacy of a life lived for Christ continues through every person who was loved, encouraged, and influenced along the way.
