Obituary

Parker Gilley, age 13, of Lockhart, Alabama, passed away October 4, 2026. He was born June 22, 2013, the son of Steve Myddelton Jr. and Lindsey Gilley. Parker attended Florala High School.

Parker had a heart for adventure and a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially during time spent at the cabins in the mountains of Mentone. Closer to home, he loved fishing on the Yellow River and Choctawhatchee River, where he also enjoyed swimming. These places held the simple joys of being a boy, exploring, casting a line, and making memories along the water.

Parker was a treasure hunter. Old Coke and Pepsi bottles, antique bottles, marbles, and anything that carried a memory of the past could capture his attention. He saw something special in things others might pass by, finding wonder in a small discovery and imagining the story it held. His treasures were reminders of his curiosity and the joy he found in exploring the world around him.

Thirteen years could never be enough time with someone so dearly loved. Parker leaves his family with precious memories of adventures shared, discoveries made, and ordinary days that now mean more than words can express. Just as he treasured the little pieces of history he found, those who love him will forever treasure every piece of his life.

Parker was preceded in death by his maternal great-great-grandfather, Ebbie Jackson, and his paternal grandfather, Milton Stephen Myddelton Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Lindsey Gilley; his father, Steve Myddelton Jr.; his brother, Hailey Myddelton; his sister, J.C. Myddelton; his maternal grandparents, Bobby and Vicky Gilley; his paternal grandmother, Sheila Myddelton; and his maternal great-grandmother, Jackie Jackson. He also leaves an abundance of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family who loved him dearly.

Funeral services for Parker will be held Thursday, October 8, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, with Terry Hutchenson and Wilson Jordan officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Cemetery.

The boy who loved to find treasures will always be one of his family’s greatest treasures; forever loved, deeply missed, and held close in their hearts.
