Michael Shay Laird, age 50, of Florala passed away Friday December 10, 2021. He was born May 26, 1971 in Florala the son of Jimmy Carter and Glenene Laird Edmonson. Shay worked as a truck driver in the construction industry. He had a love for muscle cars and hotrods.  His greatest legacy was the immeasurable mark he left on his family. Known to them as Shay and Pa Pa Shay he will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Everett and Clemmie Laird and brother, Shawn Laird.

He is survived by wife, Dawanna Jackson Laird, mother and father, Glenene Edmondson and husband Jan and Jimmy Carter and wife Vickie, daughters, Kaylynn Smith and Yvonna Kilpatrick, son, Micky Richardson, brother, Jeff Kilpatrick and sister, Shalona Adams, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Michael Shay Laird will be 2PM Monday December 13, 2021 at Evans Funeral Home with Billy Pickron officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.
