Michael DiStasio age 76, of Florala, passed away March 7, 2021. He was born March 22, 1944 in New Haven, CT to Michael DiStasio Sr and Ermalinda Manzo DiStasio. Michael proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. After serving his country he retired from Tilcon in Wallingford, CT after 38 years of service. Michael was an avid hunter and spent many hours in the woods and fields, chasing, ring neck pheasants and white tailed deer. Michael and his wife Becky moved to Florala in their retirement years became members of the First Baptist Church in Florala. They loved our town and enjoyed boating, going to the beach and taking early morning walks around Lake Jackson. Michael's biggest legacy, however is the immeasurable mark he left on his wife, children and grandchildren. Known to them as Michael, Babes, Dad and "PaPa". He will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. He was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Jean Mueller; father, Michael DiStasio Sr; mother, Ermalinda Manzo DiStasio.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Gerace DiStasio of Florala, daughter, Cynthia Haynes and husband Brian of Myrtle Beach, SC, grandchildren, Sarabecca Mueller of Wallingford, CT, Kevin Haynes, Bethany Haynes and step granddaughter, Arlene Haynes, brother, Dennis DiStasio and wife Patricia of Killingworth, CT, nephew and God son, Scott DiStasio. He is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones including other nieces and nephews.

Graveside services for Michael DiStasio will be 2PM Thursday March 11, 2021 at Chapel Hill Cemetery with Charlie Leonard officiating.
