Margaret Edwards York of Florala, Alabama passed away June 23, 2023. Margaret was a lifelong resident of Florala and retired from the Florala Telephone Company. She enjoyed traveling with James and they especially loved their trips to the Tennessee Mountains. She also cherished her time with family and was happiest when the family was together during holidays.  Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, James York, daughter LaJuan McGill (Doug) of Johns Creek, Georgia, Buddy (Laurel) York of Andalusia, Alabama and Keith (Becky) of Auburn, Alabama. Grandchildren Justin (Whitney) McGill of Florence, Alabama, Katie McGill of Huntsville, Alabama, Dustin York of Atlanta, Georgia, Skylar York of Andalusia, Alabama and Luke York of Auburn, Alabama and great grandson, Davis McGill, Brother Bill Edwards (Rosa) of New Orleans, Louisiana and Sister-in-law Mary Jane York of Andalusia, Alabama and many extended family members.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Madeline Edwards and sister, Martha Cain.

Funeral services for Margaret Edwards York will be 2PM Tuesday June 27, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home with Kevin Holland officiating. Visitation will be a hour before. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
