Mamie Cox Clary, age 90, a lifelong resident of Florala, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2025. She was born to William Cox and Gurtie Lee Cox, who instilled in her the values of faith, community, and family that guided her throughout her life. She was preceded in death by husband, JB Clary; father, William Cox; mother Gurtie Lee Cox.

Mamie was a dedicated member of the Global Methodist Church. She deeply loved her church family and attended faithfully for as long as her health allowed. Her church was not only her place of worship, but a source of strength, fellowship, and cherished friendships.

Civic-minded and community-oriented, Mamie served on the Florala Cemetery Board and was an active member of the Historical Society. Her commitment to preserving the heritage of her hometown was evident in her service and in the pride, she took in Florala's history. Having lived the great majority of her life in Florala, she poured her heart into this community. She loved this town, and the people of this town loved her in return. She made lifelong friends and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, involvement, and devotion to the place she called home.

Nothing in Mamie's life meant more to her than her family. Her son, Scott, was her only child and her steadfast companion. He cared for his mother with unwavering dedication, placing her needs as a clear priority in his life. The bond they shared was tender, strong, and deeply meaningful.

Funeral services for Mamie Cox Clary will be held Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. from Evans Funeral Home with Reverend Kevin Holland officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Florala, Alabama.

Mamie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, faithful heart, and her enduring love for her family and her community. Her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her.
