Mal
Braun
Sep 10, 1946 — Sep 7, 2025
Mal F Braun Sr, age 78, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Born September 10, 1946 Mal dedicated his life to service, faith and family. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for 22 years, carrying out his duty to country with honor and devotion. His years in uniform shaped a life marked by discipline, integrity, and a deep love for America.
Beyond his military service, Mal found joy in life's simple treasures. He was a passionate Alabama football fan, never missing the chance to cheer on his beloved Crimson Tide and to share that excitement with family and friends-"Roll Tide" was more than a cheer; it was part of who he was. He also loved the outdoors, spending countless hours hunting and fishing, where he felt closest to nature and at peace.
Family was at the very heart of Mal's life. His grandchildren knew him best as "Pawpaw Mal," a role he cherished above all others. Whether in the stands, at the lake or around the dinner table, his presence was a steady source of love and encouragement.
Most importantly, Mal's faith in Jesus Christ was the Anchor of his life. He leaned on that faith through every season, living as an example of humility, kindness, and grace.
He was preceded in death by wife, Brenda Braun; father, Charles Braun; mother, Ethel Pickron Braun; brother, Thomas Braun; sister, Leoda Samuels.
He is survived by son, Mal Braun Jr, granddaughter, Laurn Lowery, great grandchildren, Olivia and Nash Lowery. He is also survived by an abundance of extended loved ones including numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mal's memory to Florala Greenwood Cemetery, P.O. Box 183, Florala, AL 36442.
Graveside services for Mal F Braun Sr will be 11AM Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Greenwood Cemetery with James Pickron officiating with full military honors.
