Macy Marie Cassady, age 84, of Florala, was called to her heavenly home by her Lord and Saviour on Sunday, December 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by parents, Aaron and Lilla Hemphill; husband, Noah Cassady; son, Tex Cassady; brothers, Woodrow Hemphill, Newton Hemphill, Bobby Joe Hemphill; and sister, Lillie Mae Cloud.

In her early years, Macy worked at the sewing factory in Florala. Afterwards she became a stay-at-home Mama to her children and grandchildren. Over the years she was also a babysitter for numerous nephews, nieces, and other children in the family.

Macy was a Baptist by faith and was one of the longest surviving members of Victory Baptist Church in Liberty, FL. She loved attending church, reading the Bible and sharing her love for the Lord with others. She also loved to watch her grandchildren participate in various sporting events. Her heartfelt prayer was for everyone to be saved by the Blood of the Lamb and have a daily walk with the Lord.

Survivors left to cherish her memory include sons, Rex Cassidy (Carolyn) and Vick Cassidy (Toni), all of Paxton, FL; daughters, Kathy Dennis (Tom), Lisa Windham (David), all of Florala, Christy Bryan (Kevin) of Paxton; grandchildren, Jason Cassidy of Andalusia, AL, Sherry Hobby (Louis) of Florala, Joseph Cassidy (Diana) of Orlando, FL, Hannah Cassidy of Crestview, FL, Nikki Grace (Josh) of Florala, Hailee Bryan and Noah Bryan, both of Paxton; great-grandsons, Dylan Hobby of Florala and Caleb Anders Cassidy of Orlando; great-granddaughter Emma Marie Cassidy of Andalusia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the family home at 896 5th Street in Florala until time of service. A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala with Reverend Josh Bohannon officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Florala.
