Mabel Brooks passed away Sunday November 21, 2021. She was born in Opp the daughter of Robert Lee Powell and Icy Mae Taylor Powell. Mabel worked in the textile industry in our area until ill health forced her retirement. She was an excellent cook and was known for her chicken and dumplings and apple turnovers. Mabel enjoyed dancing at the senior citizens center. Her biggest legacy, however was the immeasurable mark she left on her family. Known to them as MaMa Sasser. She will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts.

Funeral services for Mabel Brooks will be 11AM Wednesday November 24, 2021 at Evans Funeral Home with James Pickron officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Paxton Cemetery.
