Obituary

Affectionately known as "Big Daddy," Lynn Gideon Zorn, Sr. departed this life to be with his savior on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024. He was 79 years old. Lynn was born to Curtis and Sue Zorn in Defuniak Springs on October 2nd, 1944. He was a life-long resident of Florala, Alabama, where he owned and operated Zorn Brothers for 50 years and spent his days stewarding others in the agricultural community. Lynn had a profound connection to the land, rooted in a deep reverence for the cycles of growth and the bounties of harvest. He was a pillar of the community, sharing his wisdom and love for agriculture with all. Lynn inspired those around him to embrace the values of hard work and integrity, traits of the enduring mark he left on his farming community. In addition to agriculture, Big Daddy also enjoyed watching high school basketball and Alabama football; however, nothing compared to his love for his family. Big Daddy leaves behind a legacy that will endure for generations—a legacy of passion, dedication, service to others, and a deep love for his family and community. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Annabel Zorn, and his two sons, Gid (Amanda) Damascus, AL, and John (Karla) Monroe, GA. Four granddaughters, Madison Griffin (Grant), Ally Zorn, and Rylee and Reagan Zorn. Three brothers, Jack, Dale (Sally), and his twin brother and long-time business partner Glen (Dottie), along with many nieces, nephews, and close family friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Sue Zorn, and an infant brother, John Livingston.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at 3 pm at Evans
