Lowell Duane
Thomas
Jan 3, 1963 — Feb 6, 2025
Lowell Duane Thomas, age 62, of Paxton, FL passed away in his home surrounded by his loved ones on February 6, 2025. Duane was born to Edna Tyler and Lowell Thomas (Jeneace Thomas) in Houston, Texas and was a proud member of the Paxton High School Class of 1981. Following his graduation, he answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1982. His years of service instilled in him a deep sense of duty, discipline and dedication that he carried throughout his life. Shortly after completing his military service Duane married the love of his life Tonya Cauthen Thomas, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, always putting his family first. Duane was a faithful member of Bethel Assembly of God Church, where he found strength in his faith and community. He had a deep love for the outdoors and spent much of his time checking cows, a task that brought him peace and joy until the very end. He was also an avid racing fan, never missing a chance to attend a race with his family, but more importantly Duane was a mentor and father figure to many, always willing to lend a helping hand, offer words of inspiration and wisdom, or simply be a steady presence in the lives of those who needed him.
Duane is survived by his beloved wife, Tonya Thomas, his children John Thomas and wife Sasha Thomas, Andrew Thomas and wife Stacey Thomas, daughter Susie McDaniel and husband Jay McDaniel and cherished grandchildren Fashawna Lawson, Ella Thomas, Lane Thomas, Raylan Thomas and Judd McDaniel, brother, Doug Thomas and sister, Debra Perkins. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by grandparents Raleigh and Susie Thomas.
A service to honor and celebrate Duane's life will be 2PM Tuesday February 11, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Jack Day officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7 PM. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to join them in remembering a remarkable man who touched so many lives.
