Obituary

Larry Williams, age 90, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. He was born April 10, 1935, the son of the late George Williams and Lizzie Baggett Williams.

Larry lived a life marked by service, integrity, and quiet faithfulness. Shortly after graduating high school, he answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Army, where he served four years. He later continued his military career in the United States Air Force, serving an additional twenty years before retiring. With more than two decades of combined military service, Larry was deeply proud of his time in uniform. He valued the discipline, purpose, and camaraderie of military life and carried those lessons with him throughout his life. His service to his country was not just a chapter of his life—it was a defining foundation of the man he became.

After retiring from the military, Larry continued his strong work ethic by joining Mobile Aerospace, where he worked for another twenty years. He was admired by his coworkers for his dedication, honesty, and willingness to serve wherever he was needed. Larry worked with hard-working hands and a steady heart, always taking pride in doing his job well and doing it with integrity. He retired from Mobile Aerospace at the remarkable age of 80, leaving behind a reputation of dependability and respect.

Outside of work, Larry enjoyed fishing and traveling with his beloved wife, Kay, especially during their younger years. In later years, walking became one of his greatest joys. Morning walks, afternoon walks, and evening walks were part of his daily rhythm—times when he enjoyed God's creation, reflected quietly, and found peace in nature.

Larry's faith in Jesus Christ sustained him through many health challenges. He faced each battle with courage and trust, leaning fully on his Savior. In the words of Scripture, Larry "fought the good fight, kept the faith, and finished the course." His life was a testimony of perseverance, humility, and unwavering belief.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew Mason.

He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Kay Pelham Williams; his son, Larry Dean Williams and wife Barbara; daughters Pat Moorer, Carol Mason, and Rhonda Davis and husband John; grandchildren, Deanna Shoffner, Mallory Anderson, William Henderson, Kenny Mason, Dean Williams and Austin Fetter; great-grandchildren, Cameron Moorer, Kaylee Moorer, Izabella Henderson, Paisley Anderson, Brantley Anderson and Weiland Williams; great great grandchild, Lainey Moorer.
