Kenneth Wayne
Morrison Sr
Jun 28, 1955 — Oct 31, 2026
Florala
Kenneth Wayne Morrison, age 71, of Florala, Alabama, passed away October 31, 2026. He was born June 28, 1955, in Fort Riley, Kansas, the son of John Angulish Morrison and Vivan Scheffer Morrison.
Kenneth dedicated 22 years of his life to serving his country in the United States Navy, attaining the rank of E-6. As an aviation support mechanic, he helped keep the equipment supporting naval aviation ready for service. His work required skill, dependability, and a commitment to those serving alongside him. He carried out those responsibilities with pride until his retirement on August 1, 2006, leaving a legacy of honorable service and devotion to his country.
His commitment to serving others continued in his community. Kenneth was a Master Mason, a 32nd-degree Shriner, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 685 in Florala. He generously volunteered his time to the lodge’s community service efforts, putting the principles of brotherhood and charity into practice. He understood the importance of lending a helping hand and found fulfillment in making a difference in the lives of others.
Kenneth enjoyed Alabama football and cheering on the Crimson Tide, but his greatest joy was his family. He treasured the time they shared and the memories they made together. To his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, he was lovingly known as “Papa” and “Papa Ken,” names that held a special place in his heart. His love will remain with them through the stories, laughter, and everyday moments they shared.
Throughout his struggles with many health issues, Kenneth’s faith in Jesus Christ sustained him. He drew strength and comfort from his Savior, facing difficult days with perseverance and hope. He fought the good fight, he finished the race, and he kept the faith.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Suzanna Morrison; his father, John Angulish Morrison; and his mother, Vivan Scheffer Morrison.
Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Chavers (Jonathan); sons, Curtis Morrison (Linda), Jonathan Morrison (Shannon), and Kenneth Morrison Jr.; grandchildren, Jaz, Naomi, Jacob, Peter, Skylar, and Nate; great-granddaughter, Isabella Lyn; and an eagerly anticipated great-granddaughter, Amira Rose.
Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne Morrison will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Evans Funeral Home, with John Adams officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with full military honors.
