Kathleen Calhoun Peoples, "Kitty" of Milton, FL died unexpectedly on September 18. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosa Lee and Shelby Calhoun, her sisters Nola Bowers, Bonnie Wood, and brothers James Calhoun, Harold Calhoun and Olen Calhoun. She is survived by her husband of nearly 67 years, Dan Peoples and her children Terri Peoples Gray (Paul) of Loxley, AL and Bruce Peoples of Milton, FL and her granddaughter Erin Gray Rutledge (Jess) of Birmingham. Among her greatest joys were her three great-granddaughters Cooper, Mimi and Carlyle Rutledge of Birmingham. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Betty Calhoun of Daphne, AL and beloved nieces and nephews.

Kitty was born in Kinston, AL and grew up in Holmes County, FL. She met and married the love of her life, Dan Peoples, in Pensacola in 1955 and they started their life together. Through his career moves to Rock Hill, SC, Alexander City, AL, Los Angeles, CA, Tampa, FL and finally Milton, FL, she always created a wonderful home that welcomed family and friends. For the past twenty years Kitty travelled with Dan and was a major part of their sales team as they covered the southeast. She loved the many friends they made and she never forgot a name.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 24, at 2:00 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, AL with visitation beforehand at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a contribution in her memory to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity.
