Karli
Kimmons
Jun 29, 1980 — Oct 15, 2026
Pensacola, Forida
Karli Kimmons, age 46, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on October 15, 2026. She was born on June 29, 1980, in Pensacola, Florida, to Martin Harold Young and Teressa Martin Young.
Karli served as an art teacher at Dixon School of Arts and Science in Pensacola, where she touched the lives of her students through her creativity, encouragement, and love. She saw the potential in every child and helped her students recognize the beauty and possibilities within themselves. Her classroom was a place of expression, discovery, and belonging. She loved her students dearly, and their love for her reflected the lasting difference she made in their lives.
An artist at heart, Karli had a special gift for seeing art in everything. She found beauty in everyday moments and inspired others to view the world with greater wonder. She loved music and animals and enjoyed the simple pleasure of chocolate ice cream topped with maraschino cherries. Even her text messages carried a little extra love, with a heart beam included for the friends she held dear.
From the time she was a little girl, her grandmother, Mozelle Roberts, called her “Sunshine,” a loving nickname inspired by her middle name, Ray. It was a fitting name for someone who brought so much warmth and light into the lives of others. Through her kindness, creativity, and caring spirit, Karli was an inspiration to her students and to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Teressa Martin Young.
Karli is survived by her daughters, Shailie Kimmons and Reesa Kimmons; her son, Caleb Kimmons; her father, Marty Young; her sister, Jesse Young; her grandmother, Mozelle Roberts; and her very special best friends, Brian Clark, Nicole Trudeau, and Howard Hart.
Her memory will live on in the hearts of her children, in the lives of the students she encouraged, and in the many people blessed by her friendship and love.
A celebration of life service for Karli Kimmons will be announced by Evans Funeral Home.
