Jo Ann McClellan, 80, passed away on June 17, 2026, in Fleming Island, Florida. Jo Ann found peace with family and Silver Treasure's friends/caregivers watching and praying over her. Jo Ann was born on May 17, 1946, in Walton County, Florida to Wilbur and Irene Adams. Jo Ann graduated from Walton Country High School.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother (James Adams), her sister (Annette Stewart), and her husband of 58 years, Wayne McClellan. She is survived by her daughters, Hollea (Kevin) Ryan and Heather McClellan, her three grandchildren, Evan, Charlotte, and Josephine Ryan, her sister Patsy Adams, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Early in her career, Jo Ann worked at James Lee Motors in Crestview, Florida as the administrative assistant. She left James Lee Motors to begin a new chapter as a business owner with her husband. Together, they started a landscape nursery, Panhandle Pampas, that they devotedly ran for over 20 years. Jo Ann was the heart of the business, giving hours of her time to walk customers through the nursery, describing various plants and flowers and how to care for them. She enjoyed developing friendships with her customers that often saw people returning again and again.

Jo Ann loved her daughters and gave her time to the many activities her daughters were involved in, such as serving a room mother in elementary school, assisting with fruit and poinsettia sales for the middle and high school bands, and working in the concession stands for various sport activities. She was a member of New Bethel Methodist Church in Crestview, Florida, where she volunteered in various capacities but with particular enjoyment in helping with the flower arrangements in church.

Jo Ann's interests included gardening and reading. She also enjoyed being a grandmother to her three grandchildren. She especially enjoyed riding them around on the golf cart or mule.

Funeral services will be held at Evans-Brown Funeral home in Florala, Alabama on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11 A.M. with visitation preceding at 10 A.M. Following the service, Jo Ann will be laid to rest at Eight Mile Cemetery in Walton County, Florida. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her memory to the Eight Mile Cemetery Fund.
