Jeanette
Solomon
Feb 12, 1941 — Oct 9, 2024
Jeanette Solomon, age 83 of Florala, passed away October 9, 2024. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, fishing, listening to music and watching Alabama Football. Jeanette's greatest legacy, however, was the immeasurable mark she left on her family. Known to them as Jeanette, Mama, Darling and Grandma, she will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. Her heart was pure, and her laughter was infectious. She was devoted to her loved ones, family and friends, and delighted in cooking and baking for them. If you came to her home for a visit, she made certain you were well fed. She was most famous for her homemade egg rolls.
Born and raised in Vietnam, she lived an incredible life having experienced many hardships, yet she always maintained a loving and positive outlook. She was kind to all. She learned to speak, read and write English with the help of a Baptist missionary and cherished friend, Mrs. Doreen Owens of Andalusia, who made an indelible impression. She moved to Florala in 1974 with her husband and children, where she has lived for more than 50 years; she developed many wonderful friendships and cherished each one. She never met a stranger and always shared her garden bounty with her friends and neighbors.
Her faith in Jesus Christ sustained her as she fought many health issues. She fought the good fight. She kept the faith. She finished the race. Jeanette was preceded in death by husband, Roscoe Solomon. She is survived by sons, Larry Solomon and Kenneth Solomon, daughter, Linda Solomon (Devon), her grandchildren, Courtney, Alexander (Selena), Andrew (Nikki), Auston and Phynix Solomon, and her dedicated and loving companion, Steve Richardson.
Funeral services for Jeanette Solomon will be 2PM Saturday October 12, 2024, at Evans Funeral Home with Brent Zessin officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
