Jeanette Cox Mathews age 87, of Florala passed Tuesday June 30, 2020. She was born December 8, 1932 in Florala to Curtis Cox and Eva Whitehearst Cox. Jeanette Mathews was many things. She was a mother, sister,, aunt, grandmother and friend to many. Jeanette was a women of God. She was a sweet soul with a huge heart. Jeanette loved playing the organ and played at Westside Baptist Church until her health wouldn't permit her to do so. She loved fishing and could out fish the best of them. Jeanette enjoyed cooking and looked forward to holidays with family. No one could come close to her Corn bread and Brunswick stew.  She was preceded in death by husband, Kenneth Mathews; father, Curtis Cox; mother, Eva Whitehearst Cox.

She is survived by sons, Perry Mathews and Keith Matthews, daughter, Renee Cole, 7 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jeanette Cox Mathews will be 11AM Friday July 3, 2020 at Evans Funeral Home with Phil McMillan officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
