Jeanette
Flowers
Mar 1, 1937 — Aug 20, 2025
Jeanette Flowers, a woman whose life was filled with love, laughter and faith, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 20, 2025.
As a young lady in high school, long before girls' athletics were what they are today, she stood out as an outstanding basketball player. Her drive, determination, and talent shined brightly, and her competitive spirit was something admired by many.
Outside of sports, she dearly loved fishing on the lakes and ponds of this area. Whether it was the stillness of a morning by the water or the excitement of reeling in a catch. Those were some of her happiest moments.
She was also an outstanding cook and a gifted seamstress; talents she used to bless her family and friends. Her kitchen was a place of comfort, where she shared not only meals but also her love and hospitality. With her sewing she created garments and keepsakes that reflected her creativity and care.
Above all else, she loved her family with a passion that never wavered. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She poured herself into them, raising them with the values of faith, kindness, and integrity. A devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, she lived her life as an example of Christian love and faithfulness, making sure her family always knew the foundation of Christ that guided her every step.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will continue to live on through her family and all who had the blessing of knowing her. She was preceded in death by husband, Robert W. (Bill) Flowers; son, James Robert (Robbie) Flowers; daughter, Regina Lorraine (Flowers) Puckett; father, James Porter Gomillion; mother, Katie Elizabeth Gomillion; brother, Vernon Gomillion; sister, Lorraine Robbins.
She is survived by daughter, Mary Beth (Flowers) Jackson (Len), sister, Evelyn Youngblood (Colin), brother-in-law, Marvin Robbins, grandson, Robert Heath (Allison), great grands, Hudson and Ella James, grandson Christopher Clint Paul (Lisa), granddaughter, Alex Hackney (Alex), granddaughter, Heather and Mitch Austin, great grandson Taylor Carnley and his wife Patricia Carnley, great-great grands Colton and Cambri Carnley, great grandson David and Logan Carnley, great-great grands Lana, Lyla Carnley, granddaughter, Katelynn (Nick) Carter, great-great grand, Karleigh, Kaisleigh and Kyleigh, very special nephew, Kelley Flowers.
Funeral services for Jeanette Flowers will be 11AM Friday August 22, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
