Jason Hughes age 47, of Florala passed away November 3, 2021. He was born September 5, 1974 in Opp the son of James A Hughes and ReDonna Merritt. Jason loved Auburn football and it's rich traditions and enjoyed sharing that love with family and friends. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Jason was known for preferring hugs over handshakes. He was an enemy to no one and a friend/brother to everyone. Jason attended the First Assembly of God Church in Florala. He will be dearly missed by his love ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by father, James (Jimmy) Hughes.

He is survived by his mother and father, ReDonna Merritt and Gene Merritt, son, Austin Hughes, brothers, Levi, Hunter, and Jacob Hughes and David Danley. He is also survived by and abundances of extended love ones including numerous uncles, aunts nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services for Jason Hughes will be 2PM Sunday November 7, 2021 at the First Assembly of God Church in Florala with Ray Bundy officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery.
