Janice Elmore Uhme age 70, passed away May 1, 2025. She was born November 1, 1954 in Opp the daughter of Jessie Franklin Elmore and Sara Inman. Janice worked for many years at the Florala Health and Rehab. Her kindness and caring nature to the patients and family's she served was her ministry. Her greatest legacy, however, was the immeasurable mark she left on her family.  Known to them as Janice, Mom, Nanny and Big Nanny she will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. Janice's faith in Jesus Christ sustained her as she fought many health issues. She fought the good fight. She kept the faith. She finished the race.

She is survived by daughters, Julie Henley (Joe) and Soyna Richardson, son, Nick Lawson, brother, Dewey Elmore, sisters, Shirley Morgan (Charles), Helen Lawson and Vassie Weaver, grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, Savannah, Richie, Eli and Nicolas. She is also survived by an abundance of extended loved ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Janice Elmore Uhme will be 2PM Sunday May 4, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Dewey Elmore officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Beulah Cemetery.

A time of visitation with our family will start 10AM Saturday May 3 at the Opp City Senior Activity Center, 500 Brantley St, Opp, AL.
