Obituary

Janice Palmer Madden, age 87, of Florala, Alabama, passed away peacefully, from natural causes, in the comfort and privacy of her home on August 4th, 2023.

Born in Yarbo, AL, she moved with her family throughout the southeast to accommodate her father's career with Southern Pine Inspection Bureau before they settled in Florala the year prior to her graduation from Covington County High School. Janice excelled in her life's work of homemaking and being a wife and mother. She enjoyed reading, taking care of her pets, floral arranging, and tending to her house plants. Those fortunate to call her friend had a loyal and wise confidante. She was generous in spirit and a compassionate soul. Her loved ones will remember her as a woman of great character, loving heart, infectious laughter, and exceptional beauty.

She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, James Madden, parents Grady and Elva Beech Palmer, twin brothers, Jim and Bill Palmer.

Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Debbie Donaldson (Rex), Powder Springs, GA, Kim Williamson (Robert), Florala, AL, granddaughter Kristin Carder (John), great-granddaughter Ella Carder, Dallas, GA, brother Pat Palmer (Ann), Pensacola FL, niece Tiffany Cherry, Las Vegas, NV, and nephew Patrick Palmer, Pensacola, FL.

As per her wishes, Janice's funeral will be a private ceremony the afternoon of August 6th, 2 pm, for her immediate family with Evans Funeral Home directing and burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Her son-in-law, Robert Williamson, will officiate. The family appreciates your prayers during this painful and difficult time.
