Janet Evans, longtime resident of Florala, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord on October 11, 2022.

Funeral services will be Sunday October 16, 2022 at 2:00PM at Evans Funeral Home in Florala. Rev Phil McMillon will be officiating.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Sunday beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in the family plot at Greenwood Cemetery.

Janet was born August 7, 1944 to Obie Evans and Ruby Blanchard Evans.She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward & Ruby Evans, sister, Barbara Townsend, brothers, Buzzy Evans, Dwight Evans and Greg Evans.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jeffery Mabry (Ann), her 2 grandkids, sisters, Joan Nowak from Andalusia, Brenda Bruan (Mal) from Florala and nieces, Sandi Hoak and Robin Townsend and nephews.

Janet had a strong personal relationship with the Lord, and she showed it every day in her life. In the Bible, God requires us to love everyone.  Janet was the perfect example of this, she loved everyone she met and told you she loved you.  She just made you feel better to be around her.  Janet loved to sing and praise the Lord in her Church. She was an active member of Westside Baptist Church in Florala.
