James Dana Revette, age 76 of Pensacola, FL, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, during surgery at Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Laurel, MS, on September 25, 1947, to Maryanne and James Frank Revette.

He attended State Line High School, where he played football and clarinet in the band. After graduating in 1965, he briefly joined the Sea Fare International Union before being drafted into the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War. He continued his passion for music in the U.S. Coast Guard band, playing in major events like the Rose Bowl and Macy's Thanksgiving Day parades.

After completing six years of military service, he continued to circle the globe in the U.S. Merchant Marines and achieved a Chief Engineers license in 1989.

He opened Snag Lake, a 200 acre property that supported fishing, farming and camping for friends and church family, in the '80s. He married Shirley Ann Terry in 1993 and became a father in 1994. He retired in 2002 to dedicate his full attention to his daughter and community. He served as a school volunteer, Mason and Deacon.

Dana was loved by all who knew him. His kindness, generosity and positive attitude will be remembered forever. Dana is proceeded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his daughter Haley Anne Revette, brothers Mike and Mark Revette, and sister Robin Revette.

Dana's memorial will be held at Paxton Baptist Church on Wednesday, July 31, at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be sent to Paxton Baptist Church.
