Obituary

James Franklin Mitchell of New Harmony, Florida, answered the Lord's call to go Home on Saturday, July 11, 2020, at the age of 76. Frank was born in Paxton, Florida, to Jack and Cora Lee Bryan Mitchell on September 26, 1943. He was married to Vickie Marie Hall Mitchell for almost 50 years. They had their ups and downs, but always remained together. Frank lived for working hard and loved his family with all his heart. Frank's love for farming was obvious to anyone who knew him, and he especially loved helping his son, Jamie, cut hay and piddle around the farm. To know Frank, anyone would agree that he was completely generous with anything he had but detested accepting hand-outs. He was a hard-headed, persistent, hard-working, and a fun-loving man, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather. Frank Mitchell was a simple man. Frank is preceded in death by his father, Jack, his mother, Cora Lee, and his granddaughter, Jackie Roughton.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Vickie, his children Wendy Ann Mitchell Roughton (Michael Terry, Sr.) of New Harmony, Florida, Cora Mitchell McKee of New Harmony, Florida, and Jamie David Mitchell (Lisa) of Gaskin, Florida. Frank's grandchildren are Jacquline Maria Roughton, Michael Terry Roughton, Jr. (Chanel), Kayla McKee Bradley (Nick), Cortni McKee (fiancee Josh Guiffre), Jade Mitchell Williamson (Ethan), Payton Mitchell, James Kaleb Mitchell, and Joseph Kaden Mitchell. Frank's great grandchildren are Kolby, Emilyann, Connor, Lelan, Mileyann, Eli, Luke, Lila, Braylon, Brixton, Jackson, Annabeth and Adalee.

A celebration of life ceremony for family and friends to honor Frank's life will be announced by Evans Funeral Home at a later date, per the family's request.
