James Jeffery McLaney, age 62, of Florala passed away February 10, 2022. He was born August 17, 1959 in Florala the son of James Edward McLaney and Sally Landingham McLaney. Jeff worked in the construction industry for many years until ill health forced his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter spending countless hours in the lakes, ponds, fields and woods of south Alabama and northwest Florida. Nothing was more important to Jeff as his family. He especially loved being around his nephews and great nieces and nephews. Jeff will be dearly missed by his love ones who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by father, James Edward McLaney; brother-in-law, Wilson Lawrence.

He is survived by mother, Sally McLaney, sister, Pat Lawrence, nephews, Bobby Lawrence and wife Ashley and Billy Lawrence, great nieces, Emma Smith and Katrina Lawrence and great nephews, John Luke Lawrence and George-Henry Lawrence.

Funeral services for James Jeffery McLaney will be 2PM Sunday February 13, 2022 at Evans Funeral Home with John Lovelady officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be at Beda Cemetery.
