Obituary

Izetie Thomas Edwards age 92, passed away December 3, 2020. She was born October 8, 1928 in Florala to Dee Alexander Thomas and Emma Aplin Thomas. At a young age of 92, Icy was still a social butterfly. She made friends easily and made it a point to make everyone feel at ease. In her early years, Icy worked in a bakery and grew a fondness for baking sweets. Icy loved to cook and bake and serve others. Most visits to the Edward's home would include coffee and some type of sweet sensation she had made. Icy was a joy to be around with a laugh and a smile for everyone. She acquired a love for Bingo and was very competitive. She served in the Church with husband, Bro Bill, as a Pastor's wife who truly set an example of loving others. Icy and Bill were diligent in making a difference wherever they were. Icy was a praying women who often would say, "Well let's pray about that!" because she truly believed in the power of prayer. She was always willing to listen and to share happiness with those she met. Loving people, sharing the Word, and living by faith sum up the story of Icy's life. And, Oh! It was a wonderful life! She was preceded in death by husband, Bill Edwards; mother, Emma Aplin Thomas; father, Dee Thomas; sister, Iona Collins and Inez Straughn; brothers, ID Thomas and Ivan Thomas; sister-in-law, Ruth Thomas; brother-in-law, John Collins; niece, Martha Thomas; nephew, Barrow Straughn.
