Gyndolyn (Gwen) Fay Gomillion , age 86, passed away May 12, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loved ones in Florala, Alabama. She was born August 31, 1936 on the Knox Farm in Andalusia, Alabama to Woodrow and Eva Mae Fowler. She was a member of Westside Baptist Church.

Gwen worked as a Senior Caretaker in Florala and enjoyed shopping and visiting with each of her clients. She was very caring to each and they all loved her very much. She enjoyed singing, cooking, and having the children and grandchildren over on all occasions.

She was preceded in death by father Woodrow Fowler and mother Eva Mae Bradley Fowler, husband Joel Gomillion, brother J.D. Fowler, and grandsons, Patrick Helms and Joshua Martin.

She is survived by son Billy Edward Helms (Dawn) Lockhart, AL, Karen Kimbro (Dewayne) Florala. AL, Melissa Holley (Mike) of Paxton, FL., grandchildren Joanna Hadley, Jessica Jackson (Jamie), and great children, Joshua Grissett (Tylan), Kadance and Dalton Jackson.

Funeral services for Gyndolyn Fay Gomillion will be 11:00 AM Monday May 15, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home in Florala, Alabama with John Bryan officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Pall bearers: Joshua Grissett, Dalton Jackson, Nicolas King, Matthew Cook, Jonathon Craft, and Noah Leonard.
