Ferrell W. McDougald age 89, passed away April 24, 2023. He was born October 25, 1933 in Samson, AL to Archie Lee McDougald and Dora Francis Sellers McDougald. Ferrell enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, raising cattle and running. Also flirting with pretty girls as he walked around the lake. He also enjoyed watching Andy Griffith, westerns, and Rodeo's. Ferrell was a phenomenal husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Lou McDougald, father, Archie Lee McDougald, mother, Dora Francis McDougald; brother, Archie Lee, McDougald, Jr.; sisters, Barbara Weeks and Betty Kyser.

Ferrell proudly served in the U.S. Army in the Nike - Hercules Missile Program. He served 2, 3-year deployments in Germany with his family and 3, 1-year deployments in South Korea without his family. Ferrell served distinguished and faithfully for over 30 years.  He was an extremely competitive runner who still holds 4 state of Alabama running records for the 2 mile, 5K and half-marathon events, for his age.

He is survived by daughter, Janet Hataway and husband David of Enterprise, sons, Marc McDougald and wife Lynn of Enterprise, Patrick McDougald of Florala, Steven McDougald of Miami and Krystal McDougald Tyrell of Clarksville, Tennessee. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He relished being their "Grandaddy". Brother, Don Jerry McDougald, and wife Sybil, Sisters Jeanette Brooks, and Linda Chavers. He is also survived by an abundance of extended loved ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Ferrell W. McDougald will be 3PM Saturday April 29, 2023 at Evans Funeral Home with Josh Rigby and Shannon McDougald officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to Funeral
