Faye
Turner
Feb 6, 1930 — Jun 6, 2025
Faye Turner, age 95 of Laurel Hill, FL, passed away Friday, June 6, 2025. Faye was born on February 6, 1930. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ned Turner of Florala, parents, Tessie Reeves Foreman and Robert Foreman of Laurel Hill, and son-in-law, Paul Patton of Las Vegas.
Faye grew up as a farm girl and worked hard alongside her widowed mother to keep the farm going. Faye attended Paxton High School and in 1948 she met the love of her life, Ned Turner, to whom she was married for 63 years. They lived in Pensacola for over 40 years and then in 1985 she and Ned moved back to her family's farm in Laurel Hill where she had grown up. For the next several years, she and Ned enjoyed renovating the old farmhouse and maintaining their 200 acres. Later, Faye generously gave each of her daughters 40 acres so they could build their homes and live nearby.
Faye had a passion for gardening and wildlife. She loved to feed the wild quail and hummingbirds. When weather permitted, Faye would spend most of the day working in her yard, as she loved to be outside. For many years she mowed her own grass. We celebrate her life with sweet remembrances of a farm girl rooted in "quiet strength" who instilled a strong work ethic in her children. She had an unyielding deep love for her family and lived a long, blessed life.
The second greatest love of her life was a little dog who showed up at her house one day. It was love at first sight for both Faye and Buddy. After no owners could be found, he stayed on with Faye and brought many years of joy and companionship to her during the last years of her life.
Survivors include her daughter, Ann Montgomery and son-in-law, Bob Montgomery; daughter, Linda Gaye Patton; grandchildren, Sarah Patton (Ty Warner) and Brandon Patton.
A time of visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, June 14, at Evans Funeral Home in Florala from 10:00 – 10:30 a.m. with a short service following at 10:30 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Florala.
