Obituary

Our Lord and Savior called home our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Edwin (Jack) Hunt on January 2, 2021. Born September 6, 1936 in Walton County to W Fred Hunt Sr and Marjorie Carr Hunt. He grew up in the New Harmony Community and graduated from Paxton High School class of 1954. After graduation he proudly served his country in the Florida Army National Guard for over 35 years. Jack owned Hunt's Construction Company for many years until ill health forced his retirement. He also was active in Carpenters for Christ for over 20 years. Jack was a dedicated community leader serving on the Walton County School Board. He spent countless hours volunteering his time to church activities serving as a Deacon and  Sunday School Director for over 50 years. He loved New Harmony Baptist Church and his church family. Jack always said his true passions were serving his Lord Jesus Christ and his Family. He was preceded in death by father, W Fred Hunt Sr; mother, Marjorie Carr Hunt; brother, Willie Fred Hunt Jr; sister, Mildred Hunt.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Annis Scofield Hunt, daughter, Brenda Hunt, sons, Gary Hunt and wife Martine and Ricky Lewis and wife Kim, sister, Sally Scofield, grandsons, Zachary Hunt, Joshua Hunt and wife Whitney and Benjamín Hunt. Jack loved being their "PaPa".
