Edward Butts, age 79, passed away December 1, 2021. He was avid gardener from the git-go. Ed would help with his family garden and his mother would give him the left-over seeds and he would plant his own garden. He especially loved to till the garden getting it ready to plant-most of the time he did it in his bare feet. Ed liked tilling so much that he would till in between seasons whenever the notion struck him. He also liked to drive the riding lawnmower and pulling his little trailer behind it, gathering up whatever struck his fancy at the time. When ed wasn't outside, he was listening to his music. He listened to southern gospel or old country. He had his own tape player and transistor radio that he kept tucked away in his room till he got ready to use them. He was preceded in death by mother, Onize Mae Locke; father, Doc Butts; stepfather, Ernest Davis; brothers, Earl Wise, Ray Wise, James (Buddy) Butts and Danny Butts.

He is survived by, brother, Wilson (Will) Jordan and wife Sandy, sister, Pamala Maloy, aunts, Nell Jane Robbins and Frances Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Edward Butts will be 3PM Friday December 3, 2021, at Evans Funeral Home with Wilson Jordan officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be Paxton Cemetery.
