Edith
Kelley
Oct 22, 1933 — Nov 28, 2019
Edith Kelley age 86, of Florala, went home to be with her Lord and Savior November 28, 2019. Edith was a retired nurse of 30 years by profession, but her greatest joy was her family. "Nana" as the grandchildren named her. She enjoyed traveling and especially looked forward to trips with her sister, Dot and cousins, Helen, Mary Jane, Edna, and Evelyn. She enjoyed gardening, and her yard was always a thing of great beauty. She was also an amazing cook, but jokingly said "She hoped she didn't have to cook when she got to heaven". Edith treasured her church family at Liberty Hill Assembly of God and appreciated all the love and support from them. Edith was a strong woman and raised strong children and helped care for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her mother, Nettie (Farmer) Foley, father, Arthur Foley, brother, Arthur Foley Jr, sister, Dorothy (Foley) Nobles, son, Michael Raymond Kelley, and her loving husband and soulmate of 65 years Raymond Kelley.
In the last 9 months since her husband Raymond died it has been her hearts longing to see Jesus. Just knowing that Raymond would be the next one to welcome her home. What a glorious reunion that will be! Edith carries in her heart all the love of those who were privileged to know her and believed that true love never dies.
She is survived by her daughter, Gwen (Kelley) Coone and husband Jerry Coone; granddaughters, Kelley (Coone) Kelley and husband Terry, Jerri Lynn Coone and husband Steven; great grandsons, Christopher Coone and Lukas Kelley and her cherished cat named Rosemary. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services for Edith Kelley will be 3PM Sunday December 1, 2019 at Evans Funeral Home with Johnny White officiating. Visitation will be 6-8PM Saturday November 30, 2019. Interment will be in North Creek Cemetery.
