Eddie Ray Cassady age 65, of Florala passed away Sunday November 1, 2020. He was born October 28, 1955 in Florala  to Griffin Cassady and Margie Paul Cassady. Eddie worked as a correctional officer for the state of Florida for many years until ill health forced his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman spending countless hours in the fields, woods, lakes and ponds of northwest Florida and south Alabama fishing and hunting. Nothing was as important to Eddie as his family. Known to them as Eddie, dad, "PaPaw" and Paps he will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. His faith in Jesus Christ sustained him as he fought many health issues. He fought the good fight. He kept the faith. He finished the race. He was preceded in death by son, Brian Stephens; father, Griffin Cassady; mother, Margie Paul Cassady; brother, Arron Cassady; sister, Madlyn McCoy and Inez Woosley.

He is survived by wife, Janice Cassady daughter, Debbie Dailey and husband Michael, grandsons, Forrest and Kage Wibbing. He is also survived by an abundance of extended love ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Eddie Ray Cassady will be 11AM Wednesday November 4, 2020 at Evans Funeral Home with James Pickron officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 PM. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery.
