Doyle W. Edmondson, Sr., of Milton, Florida, formerly of Paxton, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2026, just one day shy of his 92nd birthday.

Doyle was born on March 15, 1934, in Gaskin, Florida, the son of George Edmondson and Sadie Chambers Edmondson. After graduating from high school at the young age of 17, Doyle answered the call to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. He proudly served for four years during the Korean War aboard the USS Rochester, an experience that remained a great source of pride throughout his life.

Following his honorable service, Doyle returned to this area and began a career with Dorsey Trailers in Elba, Alabama, where he worked faithfully for 40 years. Known for his strong work ethic, steady reliability, and ability to work well with others, Doyle earned the deep respect of his coworkers and became an important and valued part of the Dorsey family through the decades.

Outside of work, Doyle enjoyed college football and loved talking about the rivalry between Alabama and Auburn. With a smile and a sense of humor, he would often say, "My heart is with Alabama, but my money went to Auburn," proudly supporting the university where his son graduated. He loved both teams and enjoyed the friendly rivalry that came with it.

More than anything, Doyle cherished his family. Time spent with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought him his greatest joy. His faith in Jesus Christ was also a guiding force in his life. Doyle did not simply read the Scriptures, he lived them through the way he treated others, worked faithfully, and cared for his family. His loved ones find comfort in knowing that he is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Edmondson and Sadie Chambers Edmondson, and by his daughter, Christina Edmondson.

Doyle is survived by his son, Doyle Edmondson, Jr. and his wife Rosemary; his grandchildren, Sydney Edmondson Posey and Tim Jones; his son, Robert Edmondson; and his daughter, Rebecca Edmondson, as well as numerous great-grandchildren who will continue to cherish his memory and the example he set for them.

Graveside services for Doyle W. Edmondson, Sr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery with DeWayne Geoghagan officiating.
