Diane Daniel Stevenson, affectionately known as Momma D, age 84, passed away peacefully into heaven on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. She was born on June 10, 1940 in Midland City, Alabama to Johnie and Rena Mae Daniel. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in elementary education from Auburn University. She married Charles Stevenson and settled in Florala, Alabama where both became life-long educators. Diane taught second grade at W.S. Harlan Elementary School for 32 years until retirement. Diane was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Florala Study Club, and the Florala Historical Society, as well as an avid bridge and domino player in her retirement years. She was also a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Florala for over 60 years, where she served in numerous children's ministries.

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Johnie and Rena Mae Daniel and her husband Charles Gordon Stevenson, Jr.

Diane is survived by her daughter, Suane Stevenson Evans and husband Joey of Florala, Alabama and her son, Dr. Charles Gordon Stevenson III and wife Jill of Defuniak Springs, Florida. Momma D is also survived by her granddaughters, Dr. Emily Peek and husband Xalyn of Hartselle, Alabama and Drs. Betsy Farris and husband Daniel of Clanton, Alabama; grandsons, Drs. Robby Evans and wife Chelsea of Crestview, Florida, Dr. Charlie Stevenson and wife Adair of Niceville, Florida, and John Evans Stevenson of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Ellie and Joe Evans, Anna and Brooks Peek, and Charles Farris.

The family wishes to thank the caregivers of Momma D for the past 4 years; Judy Watson, Holly Woodham, Becky Holly, Felycia Reese, Rachel Cook, Lorene Thompson and Christy Fountain.

A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM Sunday, October 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Florala.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 13, 2024 at First Baptist Church of Florala with Reverend Charlie Leonard officiating.

Burial will be in the family plot at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery.
