Charlotte
Graves
Sep 19, 1973 — Jul 30, 2026
Charlotte Graves, age 52, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026.
Born on September 19, 1973, in Florala, Alabama, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Harold Carter and Florence Hutcheson Carter. She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents.
Charlotte had a heart unlike many others, especially when it came to animals. She never met a stray or abandoned animal that she wasn't willing to help. If an animal found its way to her home, it quickly found safety, comfort, and unconditional love. She had a special gift for caring for God's creatures, and they seemed to know they had found a friend in her. Her faithful companion, Jackson, was far more than a pet, he was family. Wherever Charlotte went, Jackson was never far behind, and the bond they shared brought her endless joy, laughter, and companionship.
Charlotte also loved the excitement of shopping, especially searching for hidden treasures at yard sales and auctions. She had an eye for a bargain and delighted in finding that one special item others might have overlooked. The thrill of discovering a great deal was something she truly enjoyed, and she loved sharing those finds with the people she loved.
Above all else, however, Charlotte's greatest treasure was her family. They were the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with those she loved. Her love was steady, generous, and unwavering, and the memories she created with her family will be cherished forever.
She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Eddie Ray Graves; her two beloved sons, Lee Graves and Jasper Graves; her brother, John Carter; and her cherished soul sister, Vanissa Calhoun, along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all who were blessed to know and love her.
A Celebration of Life service to honor the life of Lady Charlotte Graves will be announced by Evans Funeral Home.
Though her presence will be deeply missed, the kindness she showed, the love she gave so freely, and the compassion she had for both people and animals will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew her.
