Obituary

Charlie Brown, age 80, of Florala, AL passed away peacefully on September 28, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. A proud 20-year veteran of the United States Army, he served his country with honor and dedication. After retiring from military service, he continued his commitment to his community through a long career with the United States Postal Service.

A true outdoorsman at heart, he found joy in the quiet of nature, spending countless hours hunting and fishing. His love for the outdoors was matched only by his love for family.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Easter Brown; daughters, Sherry Dewana Brown and Dorinda Peterson Triponey; mother, Margaret Brown, and his brother, Randy Brown.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Melinda Brown; brothers Gerald Brown, Wayne Foley, and Bobby Joe McIntosh; sisters, Verta Brown, Charlotte Brown, and Mary Jo McIntosh; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will forever remember his, courage and kindness.

A service honoring his life will be held at Evans Funeral Home at 10AM Sunday October 5, 2025 with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery. The family welcomes friends for visitation beginning at 9AM.
