Charles Ray Stokes age 77, of Florala passed away peacefully surrounded by his family March 1, 2022. Charles was born April 17, 1944 in Gatewood, AL the son of Omar and Lois Inez Stokes. Charles met the love of his life and knew he would marry her at first sight. Charles was a man of many hats.  He loved hunting, fishing, working, anything as long as he was outside. The love he had for his family more than anyone could imagine. Charles lived a full life of happiness, joy and a few hardships along the way where he came to know his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Charles was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He was a hardworking man who loved life and family. He will be missed by many.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Lois Stokes, Paul and Helen Surey, sister, Carol Boyington and son, Charles Raymond Stokes.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Stokes, daughter, Lisa Norris and husband Cal, son, Omer Stokes and wife OD, sisters, Shirley Tew and husband Terry and Cindy Cook, brother, Paul Surey Jr, grandchildren, Ben Stokes, and wife Caitlin, Joseph Norris and wife Sarah, Rachael Jackson and husband Colt, Jonathan Norris and wife Brittany, Jacob Norris and wife Morgan, Morgan Stokes and Jordan Norris, great grandchildren, Eva Norris, Jonni, Rilyn, Waylon and Cutter Jackson, Olivia Norris and Emily Stokes.

Funeral services for Charles Stokes will be 3PM Saturday March 5, 2022 at Evans Funeral Home with Johnny White officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Babbie Cemetery.
