Charles William Jowers Sr. 91 was born in May of 1931 and passed on January 6, 2023. Charles, referred to as Bill by family and friends, was called home by our Lord and Savior on Friday evening at 5:20 PM. Born in Lakewood, Florida, he always lived in the surrounding area.  His parents Tom and Lois Jowers taught him to work hard. He met the love of his life, Hazel Smith, and the two married in 1950. Over 67 years they raised their two children and lived together happily until Hazel passed in 2018. The family, immediate and extended, lost a much-loved friend, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather. He was referred to as Paw-Paw by the latter generations, and Uncle Bill by his many nieces and nephews, as well as his wife's family.  A kind, gentle and humble man who worked hard every day, he took great pride in all that he did. He could accomplish any task he set for himself. He loved to cook and provide for his family. His love of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was seen as he spent time holding them in his lap. They brought him great joy. He never had a bad word to say about anyone and taught his family the love of God through his passion for gospel songs of praise and worship. At the time of his passing, he was surrounded by the family that he loved so much. Bill never faltered in his faith and with his passing the world lost a humble and precious God loving man. The family finds peace knowing that he is now with his beloved Savior.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Lois Jowers, wife Hazel Jowers, sisters Bernice Long, Betty Rutherford, Chet Anderson, as well as brothers Albert, James, Bob and George Jowers.

Survivors include his son, Charles Jowers Jr. (Teresa) of Newton AL., daughter, Ann Marsh of Pensacola, FL.; Sister, Tommie Pearson of Williamson, GA; As well as his 4 grandchildren, Scott and Chuck Jowers, Kevin Marsh, and Brandy Peebles. His legacy will also be passed on through his 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services for Charles William Jowers Sr. will be 2PM Wednesday January 11, 2023, at Evans Funeral Home with James Pickron officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Paxton Cemetery.
