Barbara
Stedman
Sep 24, 1958 — Jul 5, 2026
Barbara Stedman, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.
Barbara was born on September 24, 1958, to Alfred Clark and Ann Kitchel Clark. Throughout her life, she was known as a woman of quiet strength, unwavering dedication, and deep love for her family.
For many years, Barbara worked as a pharmacy technician, where she earned the respect and admiration of her coworkers through her exceptional work ethic, professionalism, and extensive knowledge of her profession. She took great pride in serving others, always striving to help those around her with compassion and excellence. Her commitment to doing every task well left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Following her retirement, Barbara returned to the family ranch along the Yellow River, where she devoted herself to caring for the property and, most importantly, to caring for her beloved father. She faithfully saw to his needs with patience, kindness, and unconditional love. Her role as his caregiver reflected the same servant's heart that had defined her entire life.
Barbara found joy in God's beautiful creation. She loved spending time at the beach, collecting seashells, soaking in the warm sunshine, and listening to the gentle rhythm of the waves. Fishing was one of her greatest passions, and she especially cherished the peaceful hours spent casting a line into one of the three ponds on the family ranch. Those quiet moments brought her happiness and contentment.
She also loved listening to gospel music, and her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation that carried her through both the joys and the hardships of life. Her quiet trust in the Lord gave her strength, hope, and peace, and her faith was reflected in the kindness and compassion she showed to others.
Above all else, Barbara treasured her family. Nothing brought a greater smile to her face than being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Of all the titles she held throughout her life, the one she cherished most was "Granny." Hearing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren call her by that special name filled her heart with immeasurable joy, and the memories they created together will remain a lasting treasure.
Barbara was preceded in death by her mother, Ann Kitchell Clark.
She is survived by her loving father, Alfred Clark (Carolyn) ; her sons, J.R. Suggs, Stephen Suggs, and Christopher Suggs (Lori); her brother, Dennis Clark; her sisters, Marion Green, Lisa Turner (David), and Caron Stauffer (Randy); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she dearly loved; and the father of her three sons, Alvis Suggs. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Barbara's life was one of faithful service, quiet sacrifice, steadfast love, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held close in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
Celebration of Life services for Barbara Stedman will be 1PM Thursday July 9, 2026 at Liberty Hill Assembly of God Church with Zack Spader and Johnny White officiating.
