Barbara Howard of Florala passed away Wednesday July 27, 2022. She was born February 1, 1953 in Florala the daughter of Clayburn Hughes and Thelma Powell Hughes. Barbara worked in the textile industry in our area for many years until ill health forced her retirement. She enjoyed yard sales always on the look for hidden treasures. Barbara never wavered in her love and devotion to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her reliance on God's strength and compassion allowed her to persevere through very trying times, all while helping others. She was preceded in death by father, Clayburn Hughes; mother, Thelma Powell Hughes; father of her children, Tom Howard.

She is survived by son, John Howard and wife Cassy, daughter, Kishaa Weeks and husband Shawn, brother Butch Hughes, sister, Sharon Hutto, grandchildren, Jordan Nelson, Valor Weeks, Jessie Collins and Gavin Howard.

Funeral services for Barbara Hughes Howard will be 3PM Sunday July 31, 2022 at Evans Funeral Home with Ronnie Tuberville officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in the Paxton Cemetery.
