Amanda Reese Owenby, lovingly known as "Meme," passed away on January 14, 2026, at the age of 45. She was born on January 12, 1981, the daughter of the late Gary Reese and Leavon Spicer Reese.

Mandy was a woman whose life was anchored in love—love for God, love for her family, and love for people. Family was the center of her world. Nothing brought her more joy than time spent with her daughters, whom she cherished with all her heart. She was a beautiful soul—kind, humble, and generous—who lived out the Scripture to "love your neighbor as yourself." Anyone in need could always count on Mandy. She never hesitated to give of herself, to help, to serve, or to encourage.

Her faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of her life. He was her anchor, her comfort, and her guide, and she walked in that faith daily through her compassion and grace.

Mandy also had a joyful spirit and a love for Alabama football. Saturdays in the fall were special to her, always prepared and ready to cheer on the Crimson Tide. "Roll Tide Roll" was more than a phrase—it was part of her heart.

Her special nickname, "Meme," given to her by her nieces and nephews, was one she treasured and wore with pride. It reflected the warmth, closeness, and love she shared with those around her.

She is survived by her daughters, Haleigh Grace Owenby and Ashley Lashay Owenby; her sisters, Brandy Head and husband Tay, and Sandy Reese and husband Justin; her brother, Gary Reese; and a host of extended family, including many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A Celebration of Life service for Amanda Reese Owenby will be 1PM Tuesday January 20, 2026 at Evans Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1 hour before services.
