Alton McKinney age 92, of Florala passed away December 12, 2024. He was born April 18, 1932 in Florala the son of William Penny McKinney and Olie Jackson McKinney. Alton was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked in the construction industry as a carpenter. Alton raised quail, made knifes and fiddles and was a beekeeper. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His greatest legacy however, was the immeasurable mark he left on his family. Known to them as Alton, Red, Bird Man and Daddy he will forever hold a dear and precious place in each of their hearts. He was preceded in death by wife, Jackie McKinney; daughters, Sherry and Shirley McKinney; father, William Penny McKinney; mother, Olie Jackson McKinney.

He is survived by daughter, Patsey Comalander and husband Lamar. He is also survived by an abundance of extended loved ones including numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Alton McKinney will be 2PM Monday December the 16, 2024 at Evans Funeral Home with Henry Pittman and Joey Evans officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery with military honors.
