Alma Deloris Messer age 75, of DeFuniak Springs passed away Sunday June 29, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was a woman of simple joys and a big heart. Whether she was casting a line on a quiet afternoon, getting lost in a good book, or cheering on her favorite wrestlers from the edge of her seat, she lived life with spirit and passion. Above all, she was most proud of her role as a grandmother, great-grandmother and mother. Her love for her family was boundless and unwavering. She gave warm hugs, wise words and always made sure everyone had a full plate and a full heart. Her legacy is one of Love, Strength, Laughter and Unforgettable Memories. She is preceded in death by husband, Roy C Messer; father, Estia Curtis McGugin; mother, Alma Ree Pettis McGugin; daughter, Baby Vaughn.

She is survived by sons, James Tyner and Lessie Roberts (Vickie), daughters, Marie Mitchell (Orell), Cindy Roberts (Veron) and Charlene Lingenfelter (Josh), numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alma Deloris Messer will be 2PM Wednesday July 2, 2025 at Evans Funeral Home with Donnie Cadenhead officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour before services. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
